You can easily create variations of your design by duplicating your design and swapping in new assets.
This is common when building designs in different languages, or with small changes to the messaging in the design.
Duplicating Your Project
To duplicate an existing design, go to the folder containing the design and select the Duplicate option for the design.
By clicking Duplicate, you will create an exact replica of the design you were just working in. Assets that you previously uploaded will be available in your assets panel to work with, and all animations will be maintained.
By default, a duplicated project will be named with the formatting (Original Page Name) 2.
Swapping Assets
After duplicating your original design, you will likely wish to make some minor changes to the elements on the canvas. If you wish to maintain your current formatting for the project while simply changing the image displayed on the canvas, it is easiest to use the Swap feature in Flexitive.
Swapping an element from your Assets panel will allow you to replace an element that is on your canvas with an element in your Assets panel. A swapped element will maintain the properties of the element that it replaced, including its size and animations. This change will affect all sizes of your project.
Swapping is especially useful for building design variations for different languages, like English and French. It can also be used when working with the templates shown upon creating a new project.
To swap two elements:
- Open the Assets panel on the right-hand side of your screen
- Select the element you want to replace on your canvas by clicking it either on the canvas or in the Layers panel on the left-hand side of your screen
- Tap the Swap icon shown below for the object you wish to add to your canvas
