Dynamic Elements in a Flexitive design are elements controlled by a Data Feed uploaded in the Admin panel of your Flexitive site. Dynamic Elements can be changed quickly and easily, making it straightforward to build design variations or adapt the messaging on an existing design.

Before creating a Dynamic Element in Flexitive, you will need to upload your data feed to Flexitive in the Admin panel for your site.

Creating Dynamic Image Elements

To add a dynamic image to your design, you'll first need to add a Placeholder image. The placeholder can be any image file, and in the example below I've added a simple image of a white box to the design as my placeholder image.

After the Placeholder image is added to the canvas, you can turn the image into a dynamic element in the Image Settings panel for the design.

Open the Image Settings panel on the left-hand side of the editor, and switch the 'Dynamic Element' toggle to ON.

Turning the Dynamic toggle to ON will remove the placeholder image from the canvas and open the Dynamic Design options in the Customize Panel. Under the Dynamic Design options, select the Data Feed you'd like to use by clicking it under the 'Feed' options.

After selecting a feed, you'll be able to choose a 'Row' and a 'Unit' to display on your design. Each combination of Row and Unit corresponds to different images and copy to display.

At any time, you can change which image will be shown by selecting a different Row or Unit in the Customize Panel. If you select Row and Unit combination that will not work with the type of Dynamic Element you're working with (e.g. text in an Image Dynamic Element), then the dynamic element will appear blank.

Image customization options such as Visibility, Alignment and Opacity will all still be available when working with a Dynamic Image Element.

Creating Dynamic Text Elements

Similarly to creating Dynamic Image Elements, creating a Dynamic Text Element starts with adding a placeholder text box to your design. This is done by tapping the 'Text' option in the Assets Panel.

After adding the text box to the canvas, select the text box and open the Size & Position panel, and set the Dynamic Element setting to 'ON'

As with a Dynamic Image element, turning a text element into a Dynamic text element will open the Customize panel. After turning a text element into a dynamic text element, select the Feed you'd like to use for your Dynamic Text Element, and then select the Row and Unit in the data feed you'd like to use to set the text for your design.

After selecting a Row and Unit, the text in that cell of the data feed will populate the text box. You can adjust the text styling in the same way as with a regular text element. Text styling applied to a dynamic text element will affect the entire text element, and can't be applied to only a portion of the text.

At any time, you can change the Row or Unit of the Dynamic text element to change the contents of the text box. When you change the Row or Unit of the Text Box, any styling you applied to the text box will be applied to the new text as well.
