There are 3 different ways that an element in Flexitive can be displayed. These options are Fit, Fill and Crop, and Stretch.

You can select which of these three options you would like to use in the Size and Position panel for the element.

Fit

When you add an image to the canvas, the image will automatically be set to Fit by default.

When an element is set to Fit, it will always:

  • Be completely contained within the bounding box such that the whole image is visible; and
  • Maintain it's aspect ratio

When an element is set to Fit, you will be able to see a green and grey circle in the bounding box for the element. This circle is called the Focus Icon.

By adjusting the position of the Focus Icon, you can control where in the bounding box your image will sit.

Fill, Crop and Zoom

When an element is set to Fill and Crop, the image will:

  • Automatically be expanded to completely fill the bounding box it's contained in; and
  • Maintain it's aspect ratio

By adjust the Focus Icon on an element where the design has been set to Fill and Crop, you will be able to control what part of the image you are looking at.

After setting your element to Fill and Crop, you'll have the option of changing the Zoom of your element. Use the Zoom Slider in the Size and Position Panel, to zoom in or zoom out of your element.

Stretch

When an element is set to Stretch, the element will:

  • Automatically be stretched to completely fill the bounding box its contained in
  • Always display the entirety of the element
  • Be allowed to have it's aspect ratio changed to

When working with an element set to stretch, the element will not have a Focus Icon.
