With Flexitive, your team can easily create designs containing WebM videos for Display Ads, Digital Signage, Website Content, and Social Media posts.
Confirm your Platform Supports WebM Videos
Not all platforms accept designs with WebM video elements. Before starting your design, confirm which platform your team will use to serve video display ads and ensure they allow WebM videos.
Video Controls in Flexitive
Many of the changes you can make to a regular image file can also be made to a WebM video, such as changing position, applying animations, and setting contain/fill to crop the video. In addition, you can make changes specific to videos in the Video Settings panel, such as changing the settings for;
Setting | Function |
Controls | Controls such as pause/play and fullscreen will be available or unavailable |
Loop | Option to automatically restart your video once playback is finished |
Autoplay | Control whether or not the video automatically plays |
Sound | Control whether the video is muted or un-muted by default. |
WebM v MP4
WebM files support transparency and are typically smaller than MP4 files, however MP4 is more compatible across platforms and devices.
Autoplay and Mobile Devices
When displaying a design that contains a video, you may notice that enabling the autoplay option has no effect on mobile or tablet devices.
If your design has a video set to AutoPlay, and the design is being viewed on an Android/iOS smartphone or tablet, you need to ensure your video sound is set to Mute. Autoplay on mobile is only allowed with muted sound. When the design is displayed, a mute button will appear. If someone viewing the design taps the mute button, the video will begin playing sound.
